2014 Summer Camp!
School is out, the weather is warm, and children everywhere are ready to have the time of their lives.
Which is perfect because Zen Dojos has officially kicked off this year’s fun-packed Karate Camp, complete with field trips, games, and daily karate sessions that will have your child earning that next belt rank in no time.
Aside from non-stop action, what are the perks of having your child in Karate Camp at Zen Dojos? We’re glad you asked.
1. They’ll be physically active.
No camping out in the corner of the dojo with a video game here. Too many kids spend these school-free months with their eyes glued to video and TV screens. Physical activity is crucial for proper body and mind development. Two daily karate sessions ensure that bodies are active and minds stay sharp.
2. They will set and achieve goals.
Yes, they have their eyes on that next belt, but what is it going to take to get there? Learn a new form this week? Sharpen those kicks and punches? Maybe even clean their rooms? (Okay, baby steps.) Campers will learn to set their own personal goals and work toward them. It’s a non-competitive environment here at camp, so the only people our campers are working to improve are themselves.
3. They’ll make new friends.
Everyone is always in the market for new friends, and summer camp helps to foster those relationships. No more seeing each other in passing at the dojo. No more saying “hi” only when you see them at the next belt test. Come to camp and spend some quality time doing fun things together!
4. They’ll experience higher self-esteem and have better social interactions.
With ample physical activity, a new set of goals, and new friends, campers quickly feel a revelation of higher self-esteem and confidence. And, with having to interact with new and/or different students, as well as with different Zen Dojos staff, they will be more familiar with communicating themselves to people they don’t typically see all day at school or at home. Confident interactions provides a solid basis for personal growth.
5. They’ll make you smile…
…because they’re smiling, and we all love it when our kids are smiling. Fun games, crafts, field trips, movies and karate classes will help develop useful skills and forge new friendships. Summer camp is a rewarding experience, so come join us!
